Still lifes, to me, are a celebration of the small pleasures of life:  the visual beauty of sensual shapes and colors of bottles, fruits, vegetables, linens, flowers, and also what they evoke in the other senses, such as taste and smell, too!  This was done in my studio using bottles from a collection I keep for painting, and from some beautiful red peppers that took a detour to my studio on the way from the grocery store to the kitchen.  When I shop for produce, I pick the fruits and vegetables with the most brilliant color or best aesthetic value, just in case I get the opportunity to paint them before eating or cooking with them.
